Well, you need to know a little about us. The Closet Exchange has been donating clothes to several charities for the past eleven years. Our consignors get the tax credit and are happy to see the clothes that don’t sell go to women who really need help.
We also have a program called “Women Helping Women” that accepts donations of new, unopened personal products and toiletries from anyone who wants to contribute by dropping them off at any of our stores. We all understand women needing clothing, but never really think about not having shampoo, toothpaste, or hand lotion. Thank you for helping us fill that need.
It was when the kind woman from Rosie’s Place was picking up the toiletries that we were introduced to a nice man from a local church. His group goes into Boston on cold nights and hands out blankets, socks, mittens, and gloves to those living on the streets. (S0 hard for most of us to imagine.)
We hoped you would want to help by bringing in new white socks, and new gloves and mittens in adult sizes for them, and to thank you for your kindness, the Closet Exchange will give you 10% off your purchases for two days! Get it–give a little, get a little!
Small acts of kindness from caring people are so immediate in making a difference. Maybe we should all try to do more…and not just at the holidays.
Take care and thank you for helping. xoxo, Brenda and Maggie
