The first Closet Exchange store opened in 1992. The second opened in 2003, the third in 2005 and the newest store in 2007. Brenda and Maggie Stark are the owners of the Closet Exchange stores. Their experience in retail, customer service and design are part of what makes the shopping at the Closet Exchange fun and enjoyable.

As a result of their understanding and knowledge the women’s consignment industry, Brenda and Maggie Stark are much sought after as speakers and mentors to the industry.

The owner of a women's consignment store has two equal but separate sets of customers. The customers who shop in the store and the customers who consign their clothing for resale.

As the owners of the Closet Exchange, Brenda and Maggie Stark are responsible for establishing their direction and goals. Some of the goals of the Closet Exchange are:

• To provide shoppers with a comfortable, stress free, pleasant and positive shopping experience where they may find fashion and style for less than discount and outlet prices.
• To provide our consignors with a good return for their consigned items, prompt payment on sales and safe assurance that unsold items are donated to local charities that directly benefit women in need.
